Accentuate
or emphasize the focal point of a haircut
with foil highlighting. A highlight should
be part of the look, not the look itself.
Avoid excessive highlighting. Instead create
contrast and dimension that looks natural.
After preparation measures
have been taken and the best technique is
selected, begin the procedure.
- 1st Section the hair appropriately &
hold back excess hair with large clips.
- 2nd Position the hair foil beneath
a separated strand of hair. Get as close
to the scalp as possible.
- 3rd Hold the hair foil close to the
scalp and let the hair strand rest on
the foil. Keep the strand tight so that
it rests flat against the foil.
- 4th Apply the hair color or lightening
mixture with a professional color brush.
Using short, but firm strokes, begin at
the center of the strand, work towards
the root, and then down to the strand’s
tip.
- 5th Work through each section and leave
the color product on as long as necessary.
Apply heat to achieve lighter results.
- 6th Rinse. Wash. Rinse. Style as desired.
Foil highlighting is a unique process that
requires skill and a keen eye for hair fashion.
Follow this process from beginning to end
and you as well as your client will be thrilled
with the results.
